All the tequila in the world
December 21st, 2009Somehow the Salon España, a traditional cantina in the centro histórico at the corner of Calle Argentina and Calle Luis González Obregón, had escaped my radar until fairly recently. The botanas — free food served along with your drinks — are excellent, and the chamorro (pork shank), served every Friday, is exceptional. But what is truly extraordinary is their selection of tequilas. They have 230, all of them in stock, including some favorites of mine that are extremely hard to find in Mexico City, like Chamucos, Centinela and El Tesoro.

Ahh man, I just came back from DF and I passed by this place. By the way, I had an incredible vacation in DF. It was truly a city of surprises. I already miss my tacos and Boing fruit drink. Your book was a great read and it really got me excited about the Ciudad.

I think I found destination number one when I head back to DF in three weeks. Botanas are the greatest idea ever.
